In the year 2000 two brethren of the Lodge namely W. Bro. Julien Sampson, the ruling Master, and W. Bro. Steven Schaffer, the Secretary of the Lodge, recommended to the board of General Purposes that for the Lodge to progress into the new millennium (and because we had many brethren involved with the Charity Norwood Ravenswood) we should seriously look into encouraging supporters of Norwood Ravenswood to either become Joining members of our Lodge or be initiated into the Craft via their interest and support of this well known charity.
It was of course realised that for this to happen it would be necessary that the Lodge should actively show their connection to Norwood. Therefore at the Regular meeting of the Lodge of Endeavour held on 1st February 2001 and subsequent to the approval of the Past Masters, a Proposal was approved to formally change the name of Endeavour to “Lodge of Endeavour For Norwood Ravenswood” I am pleased to be able to state that the objective has proved correct and we now have many members whose interest in the Charity has benefited the Craft in General and this Lodge in particular.
